In 1991 Mussop incorporated with Buddy as President and Joe Bradley, Sr. as Vice President and as the only two stockholders. Micki Bradley is Secretary/Treasurer and has been Office Manager from the very beginning. Mussop also began to provide chemical circulation this year.
In 1996 Mussop purchased its first air mover and an abrasive cutter to meet the needs of local industries.
In 1998 Joe retired as a Division Manager after 33 years of service for one of the major tank transporters in the country. While Joe had always been active in the company, he could now put his knowledge of chemicals, equipment, and management to work for Mussop full time.
We currently have many major manufacturing customers as well as numerous smaller business customers located in South Arkansas and Northern Louisiana. We also have air movers, liquid vacuum trucks, hydro-blasters, hot water washers, service trucks, circulation equipment, filtration systems, as well as other specialized equipment.
Looking forward, we will continue to provide quality service and look for new ways to serve our customers. To meet the demands of our continued growth we are putting more emphasis on attracting, training, and retaining good employees. The process changes either have, or will involve, improving our health and welfare benefits, developing a structured advancement and rewards system, improving management processes for employee involvement and accountability, and improving customer and employee feedback.
Now, I will answer what you really wanted to know. Mussop, where did that name come from? I hope I don't disappoint anyone when I say it's not initials for anything. It is Possum spelled backwards. Possums are the only marsupial native to North America and they are also distinguished because they survived the dinosaur age. We take our work very seriously, but we also take the rest of life seriously too. The name helps to remind us of that.
We look forward to working with our existing customers as well as new ones. Call us at 1 (877) POSSUM1 if we can be of service.
